Snowy day here in New Mexico 02/04/14

Hi pals,

We have been having a nice gentle snow falling here in New Mexico.

This is our view from the front yard - isn't it pretty?

Puffy and I don't really LOVE the snow but at least the ground freezes and we won't have to have our feetsies washed every time we come back inside.  In fact, we will probably choose to snack on cookies and then nap most of the day away - BOL, BOL.

There are still lots of birds hanging around for free food.

The squirrels and chipmunks haven't shown up yet, but I suspect it's only a matter of time because they love to eat also.  There are supposed to be owls out here but as of yet, we haven't seen any and daddy says he hasn't heard hooting.  There was a hawk outside that daddy tried to take a picture of but it didn't come out.  We still haven't found out when the pelicans migrate route brings them to the local lake but hopefully momma will get this information and be able to capture some in a photo.

On our travels through the development there have been no sightings of deer or elk lately, I wonder why.  Shouldn't they come down from the high mountains during the cold winters to seek out food and warmer climates?

Being rather new to New Mexico we still have a lot to learn.

Hugs and kisses,

Coco Rose and Puff Darby

  6. When you type your blog, right below the title rectangle is a series of options:

Compose; HTML; Undo and redo arrows; Font; font size; Format, Bold; Italic, etc... Look for the LINK button: To the right of it is the insert image button. Click on the insert image button to upload photos. Be careful because I haven't figured out how to remove photos if you put them on your page and then decide to remove them.

  7. Momma loves feeding the birds but once the bears start coming out of hibernation it is requested that all bird feeders be taken down so as not to invite the bears into the yards. It's a lot of fun when the squirrels and chipmunks are out there because they are entertaining - BOL.

  9. Crikey Coco Rose nod Puff ... Your photos are beautiful! It's so good to see those birds. We have different ones where we live. Mum still can't do the picture thing. She has tried but when she uploads them nothing happens. She's stumped but will keep trying.
