Bobcat alert 01/15/15

Hi pals, Puffy here...

This morning daddy came hurrying over to momma and told her to come with him.  Momma followed daddy and so did Mei-Ling and I, into daddy's bedroom to his sliding glass door.  Daddy opened the door and told momma not to let us out, then pointed to some trees and told momma there was a Bobcat over there.  Momma looked and looked but didn't see anything so she went back inside but daddy came back and again motioned to momma to follow him.  By now, momma was thinking maybe daddy had fallen out of his bed and hit his head and was "seeing things", but no, when daddy pointed again, yup, there was a big bobcat.

Daddy said it came right up to the sliding glass door and was looking inside his bedroom.  Momma went back inside and grabbed her camera but the bobcat has left so she then tried to get photos of it's footprints but the glare of the sun off the snow didn't allow for good pictures.

Now daddy is saying that we won't be allowed outside except for in our courtyard although he admits that a bobcat would have no problems jumping our 6 foot wood fence.

Snowy day 01/13/15

Hi pals, Puffy here...

We have been having snow and rain for two days now.  It's pretty and Mei-Ling really like playing in it but when the sun comes out the snow melts and that results in LOTS OF MUD.  Mei-Ling is supposed to go to Gallup tomorrow to have her stitches removed but it looks like that isn't going to be an option so daddy is going to remove them.  Mei-Ling and I also got a notice from the vet saying we were due for some shot so it looks like it will have to wait since the roads here are not feasible to travel on right now.  Can I say how disappointed this makes me?

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Would anyone like to try out the hammock?
Snow on the Juniper...
more snow and even some on the camera lens - BOL...

Waiting for momma to open the door so Mei-Ling and I can go back inside...

Scary isn't he?  This is Simba Blue our kitty brother...

Simba looks mad doesn't he?

Mei-Ling LOVES the snow...

Here I am with one of my stuffies...

Vet visit 01/10/15

Hi pals, Mei-Ling here...

As you know, I had to go back to the vet yesterday and the good new is that there was nothing wrong with my surgery as the incision looks good and I have been leaving it alone, don't even have to wear that silly ole E-collar that momma bought for me.  The vet felt me all over and when she got to my tummy and started squeezing, I let out a big stink bomb.  She concluded that I had stress related colitis and gave momma some vile tasting medication that momma has to give me twice a day, until it is all gone.  I got my first dose last night and this morning I was playing, running around and back to my sweet self until momma gave me a second dose, now I'm mad at her and can't get this nasty taste out of my mouth.

Can you see my stitches?  Look closely, there are three tiny stitches close to my side that is closest to the top of the bed.  Forgive the bad hair day, but it's been a ruff week.

Mei-Ling going back to the vet TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! 01/09/15

Hi everyone, Marilynn here,

Mei-Ling was having a hard time the day after her spay surgery but seemed to settle down with the pain medication,  Yesterday, she was up and about and even eating, but today, she is once again whining and now refuses to eat.  We do not have a vet that is open on the weekends and because it is Friday, we are opting to travel back to Gallup and have the vet re-examine her to make sure everything is okay.  She hasn't thrown up but is having a real hard time pooping.   It's better to be safe than have her suffer over the weekend.

Mei-Ling's big girl surgery 01/07/15

Hi pals, Puffy here...

Yesterday, my little fursister Mei-Ling had her "big girl surgery" done, a micro chip implanted, blood tests, teeth checked and who knows what else.  Momma and daddy took her to Gallup early in the morning and then stayed in town until late in the afternoon.  The vet wanted Mei-Ling to stay at the clinic overnight but momma found out that they did not have anyone at the clinic after hours, so why leave her there?  Momma told the vet that she wanted to take Mei-Ling home and that she would let her sleep in a crate so she would not be disturbed.

Well everyone, including Mei-Ling came home late and boy was I happy to see her even though she smelled funny.  Momma did not keep her promise to the vet and instead, allowed Mei-Ling to sleep on the big bed on her favorite pillow.  I was a real good big brother and did not bother her.

It's been a lot of years since the momma and daddy have had a female pup spayed and they were surprised that the surgery isn't done the same way as it was before.  When Coco had her surgery about 8 years ago, the vet made a huge incision down her stomach.  Mei-Ling came home with one small incision off to the side of her stomach that measures about 1/2" long.

Mei-Ling, do you have anything you want to add to this posting?

"OWIEEEEEEE"!!!!!!!
